Natuzzi Italy battles alongside Convivio 2016 to shine a spotlight on the fight against AID
The thirteenth edition of Convivio — the most important Italian charity fair — was held on 8th June, 2016, in aid of the Lombardy chapter of ANLAIDS (National Association for the Fight Against AIDS).
Natuzzi’s attendance began with the traditional pre-inaugural gala dinner, where the Italian designer’s display space, created by Natuzzi Style Centre, brought together the twin themes of the Apulia region — muse and homeland to the brand for the past fifty-seven years — with live music, the central motif that the event was organised. The common thread joining the two worlds was Pizzica; a traditional folk dance symbolic of the region and its vibrant creativity.
Artistic flair and creative talent took centre stage in the Natuzzi exhibition space where Pasquale Natuzzi Jr. — Creative Director and Brand Ambassador — and his guests held court, featuring designers such as Fabio Novembre, Marcel Wanders and Stefano Giovannoni, the Italian musician Saturnino and other prominent international names all proudly taking on the role of Natuzzi spokesmen in support of Convivio and HIV prevention.
Five days of ethical shopping followed to raise additional funds for AIDS charities.
This edition of the event set a new record in terms of participation from top brands, boasting innovative new features such as the introduction of the highly anticipated Art & Design section showcasing contemporary furnishings. Natuzzi Italy created a limited Natuzzi for Convivio edition of the Aura Armchair; a unique pink wing chair that represents Natuzzi’s solidarity and support for the AIDS cause. The proceeds from its sale will be donated entirely to ANLAIDS in support of the struggle to prevent the spread of HIV.
